Ekho Social ("we", "us", "our") operates the management.ekho.social platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account information: Name, email address, and profile photo when you create an account via our authentication provider (Clerk).
  • Creator Card content: Channel name, creator name, bio, social media handles, profile images, team member information, past partnership details, and content tags you add to your Creator Card.
  • Platform analytics: Social media statistics you upload, including follower counts, engagement rates, audience demographics, geographic data, and audience interest categories.
  • Contact information: Email addresses provided for the "Contact Me" feature on your public Creator Card.
  • Contact form submissions: Name, email, inquiry details, and messages submitted through our Contact page.
  • Payment information: Billing details processed through our payment provider (Clerk/Stripe). We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and interactions within the platform.
  • Analytics data: We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymized usage statistics on our marketing pages, including page views, referral sources, and general interaction patterns.
  • Device information: Browser type, operating system, and device type for responsive experience optimization.

Information from Third Parties

  • Authentication provider: We receive your name, email, and profile image from Clerk when you sign in.
  • Social media platforms: When you connect your YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram accounts, we access publicly available profile information and the analytics data you explicitly upload.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Ekho Social platform.
  • Create and display your Creator Card, including on public pages accessible via your unique URL.
  • Display platform analytics on your Creator Card as you configure them.
  • Process your subscription and billing through our payment provider.
  • Respond to contact form submissions and Exclusive Roster inquiries.
  • Send service-related communications (account updates, billing notices, security alerts).
  • Analyze platform usage to improve features and user experience.
  • Protect against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.

We do NOT:

  • Sell your personal information to third parties.
  • Use your analytics data for advertising purposes.
  • Share your unpublished Creator Card data publicly.
  • Access your social media accounts without your explicit action.

3. Information Sharing & Disclosure

Public Information

When you publish your Creator Card, the following becomes publicly accessible at your unique URL:

  • Channel name, creator name, bio, and host bio
  • Content tags and additional links
  • Profile photo and team member information
  • Platform statistics you've uploaded
  • Contact email (if you've enabled the Contact Me feature)
  • Past partnership details

You control what is published. Unpublished cards are not publicly accessible.

Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers who assist in operating our platform:

  • Clerk: Authentication and user management
  • Convex: Database and backend infrastructure
  • Stripe (via Clerk): Payment processing
  • Google Analytics: Anonymized marketing page analytics
  • Vercel: Hosting and content delivery

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

4. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
  • Creator Card content: Removed when you delete your card or account. Published cards are taken offline immediately upon unpublishing or deletion.
  • Platform analytics: Retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual platform stats at any time.
  • Contact submissions: Retained for up to 12 months, then automatically deleted.
  • Usage analytics: GA4 data is retained per Google's standard retention policies (14 months by default).

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

  • All data transmitted via HTTPS/TLS encryption.
  • Authentication managed by Clerk with support for two-factor authentication (2FA).
  • Role-based access control limiting data visibility by user role.
  • Database hosted on Convex's secure, SOC 2-compliant infrastructure.
  • Regular security reviews of our codebase and dependencies.

No system is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access: View all data associated with your account via your dashboard.
  • Update: Edit your Creator Card, profile, and settings at any time.
  • Export: Download your platform statistics as CSV or Excel files.
  • Delete: Delete your account and all associated data from your Settings page. Account deletion is permanent.
  • Unpublish: Remove your Creator Card from public access at any time while retaining your data.
  • Opt out of analytics: Use browser-level tools or extensions to opt out of Google Analytics tracking.

7. Cookies & Tracking

  • Essential cookies: Used by our authentication provider (Clerk) to maintain your session. These are required for the platform to function.
  • Analytics cookies: Google Analytics 4 uses cookies to collect anonymized usage data on marketing pages. You can opt out via your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out extension.
  • Local storage: We store non-sensitive preferences (e.g., onboarding tour completion, theme preference) in your browser's local storage.

We do not use advertising cookies or retargeting pixels.

8. Children's Privacy

Ekho Social is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

9. International Data Transfers

Our platform infrastructure (Convex, Vercel, Clerk) operates primarily in the United States. If you access our service from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US. By using our service, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
